290 gallerie tra le più importanti al mondo 4.000 artisti tra i più famosi e quotati: questa è Art Basel
con l’installazione “Basilea” del gruppo Creative Time
La 49ª edizione di Art Basel, che aprirà al pubblico dal 13 al 16 giugno, ma già visitabile dall’11 giugno ma solo “private view” per VIP, si preannuncia intensa. Quest’anno un’importante novità per le gallerie: tariffe ridotte per quelle più giovani per agevolarne la partecipazione e gli investimenti.
Gli espositori saranno 290, da 34 paesi, 19 i nuovi partecipanti, suddivisi nelle varie sezioni della Fiera: Galleries (gallerie di arte moderna e contemporanea); Feature (progetti curatoriali e mostre tematiche); Statements (progetti solisti di artisti emergenti); Edition (opere editoriali e multipli), Magazines (pubblicazioni da tutto il mondo); Parcours (settore che impegna i quartieri della città) e Film (film creati dagli artisti).
Imperdibile, come sempre, la sezione Unlimited (installazioni, sculture e dipinti di grandi dimensioni) curata per l’ottavo ed ultimo anno da Gianni Jetzer, (ora curatore all’Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington), 75 gli artisti che saranno protagonisti della “fiera-nella-fiera”, Larry Bell, Huma Bhabha, Andrea Bowers, Jonathas de Andrade, Alicia Framis, Abdulnasser Gharem, Kiluanji Kia Henda, Kapwani Kiwanga, Daniel Knorr, Jannis Kounellis, Sarah Lucas, Kerry James Marshall, Rivane Neuenschwander, Hélio Oiticica, Jacolby Satterwhite, Joan Semmel, Do Ho Suh solo per citare qualche nome.
Per il progetto di Art Basel su Messeplatz è stata selezionata Alexandra Pirici con il progetto “Aggregate” (2017-2019), un performativo ambiente dell’artista rumena a cura dell’italiana Cecilia Alemani.
Tra le gallerie italiane la nuova entrata SpazioA e le immancabili Alfonso Artiaco, Galleria Continua, Galleria Raffaella Cortese, Massimo De Carlo, Galleria dello Scudo, A arte Invernizzi; Magazzino, Giò Marconi, Galleria Massimo Minini, Galleria Franco Noero, Galleria Tega, Tornabuoni Art, Tucci Russo. Art Basel 2019. Preview
The 49th edition of Art Basel, which will open to the public from June 13th to 16th, promises to be rich, the show will already be open to visitors from June 11th but only “private view” for VIPs. This year an important change for the galleries: reduced rates for the younger ones to facilitate participation and investments.
The exhibitors will be 290, from 34 countries, 19 new participants, divided into the various sections of the Fair: Galleries (galleries of modern and contemporary art); Feature (curatorial projects and thematic exhibitions); Statements (solo projects by emerging artists); Edition (editorial and multiple works), Magazines (publications from all over the world); Parcours (sector that engages the districts of the city) and Film (films created by the artists).
